Cabin 2 - Rua

Take a break and unwind at this little oasis. A great little spot to spend a night or two and explore this magical part of the The West Coast.

This smart but basic cabin is nicely furnished and has its own food preparation space on the verandah.

The shower, toilet and parking area are shared with the other cabin on site, but we have worked hard to give our guests privacy in this magical location.

This cabin is a brand new off grid build, kitted out with boho style furnishings and decor. It contains a comfortable double bed next to which is a breakfast table and chairs to enjoy your morning cuppa.

The double doors lead you out onto your own outdoor verandah with kitchenette where you can cook, sit and eat in the evening sun.

The property is 100% "off grid" with the water at the cabin being collected from the roof and the power supply is provided by a solar system - this may not be your average holiday experience, but we have tried to create a natural space to just "get away"!.

The simple kitchenette is provided with a chilly bin, but it would be wise to bring frozen ice blocks with you to help keep perishable food cool if you choose to cook whilst staying, as the limited solar power supply cannot support a fridge. There are also plastic boxes available to store your food away from any opportunistic native wildlife!.

The Punakiaki Tavern is only 10mins drive to the south and does some great food/kai if you chose not to cook!

The toilet and shower are a brand-new separate cabin opposite your accommodation and is shared with other cabins (if occupied). Hot running water is available at this cabin for all guests.

Parking and Driveway

You will have an allocated parking space so please arrive in one vehicle if possible (other parking can be made available if needed).

The driveway is made of gravel and is about 150m long and the parking area has enough room to turn a normal sized vehicle, but guests with large camper vans and towing vehicles should contact the host before booking.
