The nearest shops and petrol are 30 minutes north at Westport or 45 minutes south at Greymouth - be sure to stock up on supplies and fuel before you arrive.

Sandflies are plentiful on the West Coast, however, for your comfort windows are fitted with insect screens.

There is no cell reception at the house - the nearest cell reception is at the end of the drive or just down the road. Sometimes you can text from the deck.

Free fast satellite WiFi is provided. There is also Netflix and Freeview TV, listen to radio via the TV.

WATER SUPPLY: this is rain-water from the roof and is not treated in any way - we always drink straight from the tap but you may wish to bring bottled water for drinking.

Waituhi at Whitehorse Bay is located at the very start of the famous Coast Road - this stunning drive is an attraction on its own, however also in the area are numerous other attractions like the Pororari River Walk, The Truman Track, Punakaiki Blowholes (15 mins drive), cave rafting and glow worm caves at Underworld Adventures in Charleston or the historic bridge and caves at Fox River. Or you may just want to sit on the deck and watch the waves roll in.
